GA Dept. of Public Health gets $2.78 million for injury prevention from GOHS

The Georgia Department of Public Health got close to $3 million to fund injury prevention efforts across the state caused by vehicle crashes.

The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety administers the funding on behalf of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

“This long-standing, unique partnership between highway safety and public health helps promote a safer Georgia,” Kathleen E. Toomey, M.D., M.P.H., commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Health, said in a statement. “This programmatic support has made a difference for Georgians and continues to save lives and prevent injuries.”…
