Vandalia hit-and-run leaves girl hurt, parents seeking answers

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Vandalia Police are searching for a driver after a girl walking home from her last day of school before winter break was hit by a car last week.

Brooklyn Landis’ two-mile walk to and from school takes her along one of the busiest roads in the area.

Shortly after 3 p.m. Friday, Brooklyn tried to cross at the intersection of Foley Drive and National Road, where she was struck by a car that immediately left the scene.

“I was running because I was trying to get across faster,” said Brooklyn. “All I remember from my perspective is like, seeing it right up against and me trying to pull myself off of it.”…
