Sinking ground from abandoned coal mine causes northwest Canton intersection closure

CANTON ‒ The city administration is asking the public to avoid the intersection of Harrison Avenue NW and 32nd Street NW for approximately two months until sinking ground caused by an abandoned coal mine can be repaired.

The impact is limited to the northeast corner of the intersection and an adjacent duplex. Access to the residential property was blocked on Tuesday as a crew worked in the basement.
