A high-speed pursuit in Vallejo involving a 2019 Nissan Rogue ended in a collision after multiple vehicle code violations were witnessed by Vallejo Police Department (VPD) Patrol Division officers. According to a social media post from the Vallejo Police Department, the incident occurred near Fairgrounds Drive and Gateway Drive last Thursday.
The chase began when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver, thinking he would outpace the law, accelerated away. The officers discontinued the pursuit of public safety concerns. However, the driver, not losing his momentum, continued to speed and nearly caused what could have been a head-on collision with a deputy from the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.
