Mount Vernon police chief setting up new partnerships

MOUNT VERNON — Since being appointed Mount Vernon police chief in April, Daniel Christman has implemented new partnerships and programs to benefit those in the community.

This has included an interlocal agreement with the Northwest Educational Service District, local school districts and the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office for a Handle with Care program.

This program, which has no cost to the city, triggers a notice to schools from the Mount Vernon Police Department’s Records Management System if a child has been involved in or witnessed a traumatic incident…
