Christmas cool down ahead for Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Christmas Eve has arrived, and our streak of consecutive days above the average high for December remains unbroken at 24 days. Plenty of sunshine ahead of an anticipated cold front later tonight warmed temperatures across the Valley into the mid-70s.

Cold, dry air settling into the lower elevations continues to trap smoke and particulate matter close to the surface, so our High Pollution Advisory will continue into Hanukkah/Christmas Day.

A No-Burn ban is also still in effect through Wednesday night. Tonight, the passage of this latest low-pressure system will impact parts of Northern Arizona, with a chance of light rain and high-elevation snow…
