Bill to broaden use of therapy dogs in courtrooms heads to governor’s desk

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A bill that would expand the use of emotional support dogs in Michigan courtrooms is headed to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s desk.

In September 2018, a Michigan law allowed emotional support dogs to enter courtrooms. They can be used as victims of child abuse, sexual assault, and crimes involving vulnerable adults testify.
