Toy safety warnings highlight holiday gift hazards

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s Christmas which means many children will be receiving some of their favorite toys and several other gifts, but some may come with dangers.

Local restaurants see Christmas day rush

It’s finally Christmas and children are opening their gifts and getting new toys to play with. But while this is a fun exciting time, some toys can be dangerous for children.

Studies have shown that toys are one of the leading causes of injuries involving children, especially those under four years old. The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that 10 children die each year due to toy-related accidents and just last year, more than 150 children were treated in emergency rooms.

This is something that families want to avoid not only during the holidays but on a regular day as well…
