San Mateo Police Use Taser to Subdue Combative Theft Suspect on Christmas Eve

Yesterday, the San Mateo Police Department responded to a call about a theft at Safeway on South El Camino Real. The incident escalated when the suspect, later identified as Jose PirirBoch, resisted arrest and became combative towards officers. According to the department’s social media update, the situation unfolded as officers located PirirBoch near 17th Avenue and Palm Avenue. The suspect attempted to flee after threatening an officer with a metal chain.

Despite attempts to safely apprehend him, PirirBoch allegedly continued to resist and physically confront the police. An officer was ultimately forced to deploy a taser to detain the suspect safely. “An officer discharged his taser, effectively stopping PirirBoch from trying to assault officers,” stated the San Mateo Police Department on Facebook.
