Frisch’s historic Mainliner sign will live on at a local museum

Frisch’s historic Mainliner restaurant in suburban Cincinnati has closed, but its iconic sign will live on in the American Sign Museum.

Enquirer media partner Fox19 reported that the sign at the Fairfax restaurant – a replica of a plane the restaurant was named after in 1939 – will be donated to the sign museum in Cincinnati’s Camp Washington neighborhood.

“This sign over here is a Cincinnati relic,” longtime Frisch’s customer Mark Estes told Fox19. “When you heard of the Frisch’s Mainliner, you thought of the sign out front with the airplanes and propellers that used to spin.”…
