Some Orange County firefighters will move from the firehouse to the brewhouse Friday as they help can and package a specialty beer that will be sold to raise funds for the families of fallen firefighters.
Members of the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association Local 3631 will visit ROM Beer Co. in San Clemente for canning day of the “Never Forget Pale Ale,” a special beer they helped brew starting earlier in December. The firefighters will help can, label and package the beer, which will be released as a fundraising effort on Jan. 4 to benefit the Fallen Firefighters Relief Fund in honor of January as Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month.
According to the union, cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths in the fire service, “accounting for nearly 75% of line-of-duty deaths annually.”…
