A person died after being struck by an Amtrak train Thursday night in Ventura, authorities said.
The Ventura Police Department responded to a call of a person who had been hit by a train just before 8 p.m. on the tracks near Auto Center Drive and Hofer Drive, said police Sgt. Fabian Gutierrez. The tracks are sandwiched between southbound Highway 101 and the Ventura Auto Center.
The person struck by the train was pronounced dead at the scene, and there was no indication of foul play being involved, Gutierrez said…
