Connecticut troopers prepare for holiday travel rush as drivers return home

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. (WTNH) — With the holiday travel rush still clogging Connecticut’s highways, state troopers are out in force trying to detect and deter dangerous drivers.

News 8 rode along with Trooper Jannina Bonilla of the Connecticut State Police on Friday as she patrolled Interstate 95 in southern Fairfield County.

Bonilla said the holiday season can often bring higher occurrences of drivers under the influence of drugs and alcohol. More congested roadways also make other irresponsible roadway behaviors all the more dangerous.
