Tennessee pharmacist accused of healthcare fraud, identity theft

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Tennessee pharmacist was accused of submitting false claims totaling more than $6 million since 2018, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

The DOJ in a news release said 48-year-old Philip Hall, of Jamestown, was the owner, operator, and registered agent of Hall Family Pharmacy, Inc., which has locations in Jamestown and Clarkrange, Tennessee.

As the pharmacist-in-charge, the DOJ said Hall submitted false claims to Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, and Blue Cross Blue Shield for prescription drugs that were not medically needed, not actually dispensed, or not ordered by a doctor. The DOJ said the false claims totaled more than $6 million…
