Local production of “Wizard of Oz” proceeds to go toward breast cancer screenings

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Eastern North Carolina Dance Foundation is gearing up to present its Dance Collective in the “Wizard of Oz.” This is a show that takes almost a year to put together, from picking the show, creating props, to rehearsals starting in August.

This is the third year in a row that the show will benefit local breast cancer screenings.

“For every $100 that we are able to donate, allows one person to get a breast screening for early prevention,” Associate Artistic Director and Company Manager Cherita Lyle said. “And so, in the last two years, we’ve been able to donate a little over $3,000. So, our hope this year is that we can donate some more in order to help those who need that screening for prevention.”…
