Alexcia Cox, first Black woman state attorney in 15th Judicial Circuit, gets sworn in

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — It was a historic moment for Alexcia Cox on Monday as she took office as the State Attorney for Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit.

She was given the oath of office by Chief Judge Glenn Kelley of the 15th Judicial Circuit. Retired Judge Krista Marx administered the oath for all 112 Assistant State Attorneys.

Her swearing in ceremony comes after the democrat defeated her republican opponent, Sam Stern, by less than 5,300 votes, leaving than a percentage point between the pair…
