‘Gone Girl’ kidnapper charged in 3 more bizarre Bay Area crimes

Infamous “ Gone Girl” kidnapper Matthew Muller has been accused of more violent and frightening Bay Area crimes that, up until now, had no new leads for years.

Muller, 47, has been incarcerated since 2015, the year he kidnapped Denise Huskins from a home on Mare Island. Huskins and her now-husband Aaron Quinn were subjected to a terrifying ordeal, made all the worse when Vallejo police accused them of faking the entire thing . An investigator from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office who was probing Muller for ties to a Dublin home invasion eventually put the clues together, leading to charges for Muller and vindication for Huskins and Quinn.

Now, prosecutors from two other Bay Area counties have filed complaints against Muller. On Dec. 30, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office announced it was charging Muller with two sexual assaults that took place in 2009. In the first, on Sept. 29, 2009, Muller allegedly broke into a woman’s Mountain View home. Once inside, the district attorney’s office said he restrained her and made her drink something. Muller then allegedly told the woman he was going to rape her, but she was able to convince him to leave. Before he fled, prosecutors said he told her she should get a dog for protection…
