Bird flu impacts egg supply and prices in Washington

WASHINGTON STATE – Avian Influenza is affecting egg supply and prices in Washington, according to state and federal officials.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average egg price rose nearly 45% in 2024. Washington State Veterinarian Dr. Amber Itle says the virus directly relates to the price and availability of eggs.
