Edmonds woman calls newly approved spinal cord treatment a ‘milestone moment’ in recovery

SEATTLE — At Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, an FDA-approved therapy for spinal cord injuries is offering new hope to patients like Jessie Owen.

Owen, who was paralyzed in a tragic accident over a decade ago, has regained some hand mobility thanks to a device called ARC-EX, developed by Onward Therapy. It delivers a continuous electrical current to the damaged area of spinal cord.

“I feel like right now we are seeing the future of spinal cord injury being written and people are going to be able to look back and see this is our milestone moment,” Owen said…
