Nevada gun storage statutes may answer questions on how teen obtained gun before untimely death

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — As the biological father of a young woman who died by suicide in Henderson expressed anger about the circumstances of his daughter’s untimely death, the 8 News Now Investigators researched laws surrounding gun storage.

Jennaleah Hin was reported missing on Dec. 30 and found dead on Sunday in Henderson after a weeklong search. Documents Hina Hin, the girl’s biological father, says came from Henderson Police indicate she shot herself with her stepfather’s gun. The stepfather, the report says, is in law enforcement. Jennaleah’s stepfather noticed the weapon was missing after the teen disappeared, according to the documents.

The cause of death for Jennaleah was listed by the Clark County coroner’s office Tuesday as a penetrating contact gunshot wound of the head and neck, with the manner of death being suicide…
