Oklahoma County jail plagued by rodents, missed checks, and inmates sleeping on floors

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — A 72-page Oklahoma State Department of Health inspection report into the Oklahoma County Detention Center shows deficiencies like missed sight checks, inmates sleeping on floors, and a rodent infestation.

The inspection report, dated December 11, 2024, comes months after the Jail refused to allow OSDH inspectors into the facility for surprise inspections due to a lack of staff.
