Montgomery Public Schools to continue providing free meals to students in 2025

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery Public Schools will continue to provide free and reduced-price meals for the 2024-2025 school year, the school board announced.

MPS is able to provide this service through a federal Community Eligibility Provision of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 that allows low-income areas to serve breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students for free.

“More importantly, by offering all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost, CEP helps ensure more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn,” the release reads in part…
