Preparations underway for Upstate travel amid winter storm

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Crews across the Upstate are preparing the roads and airport for this week’s winter storm.

At Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, teams are getting heavy machinery ready to tackle the conditions.

“We have a fleet of equipment including plows, blowers and brooms,” Tiffany Cherry, the communications manager of the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District, said. “We also have equipment that will keep our roadways, walkways and parking areas around the terminal easy to get to and safe for people traveling.”…
