Auto supplier Webasto says it’s closing a plant in Rochester Hills, which will mean the loss of 244 jobs.
The company, a subsidiary of Germany’s Webasto Group that the Free Press previously reported is a supplier for the Ford Mustang and Bronco, Chevrolet Corvette and Jeep, announced in a recent filing with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity that the job losses would begin on Feb. 21 and continue through July.
“This plant closure is expected to be permanent and the entire plant will be closed. The subject Webasto Plant is not currently part of a union. Further, there are no bumping rights for affected employees,” according to a letter signed by Corey Stowell, a company vice president…
