A potential winter storm is likely to miss southern New England this weekend, sparing the region from being a snowy one.
But first, the National Weather Service said that Thursday and Friday are expected to be mostly dry and also windy. A Wind Advisory in effect until 1 a.m. warns of 15 to 25 mph winds, with gusts reaching 50 mph. This advisory covers cities like Worcester, Ayer, Barre, Charlemont and Fitchburg.
