Thief steals $300 from St. John’s University church cash box

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a man accused of stealing $300 in cash from a box at a St. John’s University church in Queens last month.

The alleged thief entered the church property, located on the university campus at 80-00 Utopia Parkway, through an unlocked door at about 4:40 p.m. on Dec. 11, officials said.

After locating a box containing the money the man snatched the cash and fled on foot in an unknown direction, officials said.

Police released surveillance images of the suspect on Wednesday in the hope someone recognizes him. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, a black vest, dark-colored pants and glasses…
