Will Wade Still Searching for More as Southland Play Moves on

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Through four conference games McNeese is just one of two unblemished teams in Southland play with a record of 4-0, but Will Wade is still searching for more, knowing his team hasn’t yet met their potential.

“We got up to good working margins but we weren’t able to sustain it,” said Wade. “We didn’t end the first half very well in either game, which was disappointing. That’s an area we’ve spent a lot of time on that we’ve got to be way better than we’ve been. We’re not as tight as we need to be and then we gave up way too many points the last 10 minutes of the game at Northwestern, too many open threes, we fouled too much, just really overall pretty poor. Pretty poor play, but you can mask a lot of things when you make a bunch of threes.”

As Wade says, you can fix a lot of things when you’re connecting on your threes, and McNeese was certainly connecting on their threes vs. Northwestern State, making a season-high 16, thanks in large part to their passing…
