On Saturday, just minutes before Iowa State basketball’s eventual victory over then No. 25 Baylor, the Cyclone football team and head coach Matt Campbell learned the status of two key players for the 2025 season.
Starting safety Malik Verdon is forgoing his senior season with Iowa State to declare for the NFL Draft. Standout defensive lineman Domonique Orange, though, is passing on the NFL Draft for a senior season with coaches Eli Rasheed and Jon Heacock.
“Playing for one of the best coaches in the nation has been an honor and a privilege,” Verdon wrote in his announcement. “I am grateful for the invaluable experience as well as the knowledge I’ve gained over the years from our coaching staff.”…
