On the morning of December 28, 2024, a tragic two-vehicle crash occurred on NM 502, just outside of Los Alamos, New Mexico. The crash led to the death of a local man, whose identity has not been released at the time of this report. Authorities responded quickly to the scene, closing down a section of NM 502 for several hours while they investigated the incident. The road is now open, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.
What Happened in the Crash?
At around 5:30 AM, two vehicles collided head-on near the intersection of NM 502. Emergency responders rushed to the site, but sadly, the driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or speed played a role in the crash.
