MORONGO BASIN — The power went out across the Morongo Basin Wednesday as a windstorm crossed the Morongo Basin. People from Morongo Valley to Wonder Valley, north to Landers and aboard the combat center, lost electricity.
For Morongo Valley, the outage started around 7 a.m., when Southern California Edison shut down power because of high fire risk. Classes were canceled at Morongo Valley Elementary School for the day.
