HANOVER ― Licking Valley’s active 2-3 zone defense made sure unbeaten Heath couldn’t see the paint through the 3s Wednesday, until unheralded junior Adam West finally made the Bulldogs pay.
West came off the bench and scored all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter, and although the Panthers allowed 11 3-pointers, they amazingly yielded just one two-pointer all night, rallying for a 44-37 Licking County League crossover victory on a 15-6 run down the stretch.
“He’s a quiet worker, and I knew at some point, he was going to have a big game,” senior point guard Kam Walker said of West, after Valley (6-3, 3-2) beat Heath for the first time in six seasons. “And tonight, he really showed up.”…
