Police arrest teen over violent robbery at Bergen St. subway station

PROSPECT HEIGHTS — POLICE ON SUNDAY ARRESTED a 15-year-old boy suspected of forcibly removing a cellphone from a 37-year-old man while simulating a weapon and, when the victim attempted to recover the phone, punching him, kicking him, and striking him multiple times in the face with the cellphone. The robbery and assault took place on Monday, Nov. 18 at about 11:33 p.m. on the 2/3 train southbound platform inside the Bergen Street subway station in Brooklyn. The victim, who managed to recover his phone, was injured but was not hospitalized.
