Domestic violence survivors protest in hometown of accused Maine Rep. Lanigan

SANFORD, Maine — Domestic violence survivors and their allies marched in protest on Thursday in the hometown of State Rep. Lucas Lanigan , who faces accusations of strangling his wife during a confrontation over an alleged affair in October.

Finding Our Voices , a grassroots nonprofit that raises awareness about domestic abuse in Maine, led the protest, which started at the Aroma Joe’s coffee shop in downtown Sanford and continued along Main Street during the late morning.
