Hit-and-run driver strikes off-duty police officer in the Bronx: sources

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An off-duty NYPD officer was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in the Bronx on Thursday morning, sources said.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was walking at Metcalf and Story avenues in the Soundview section just after 6 a.m. when she was hit by the driver of a Honda, according to sources.

The driver fled the scene northbound on the Bronx River Parkway and remained at large Thursday, the sources said…
