Mississippi Man Apprehended With Nearly Two Pounds Of Methamphetamine, Sheriff’s Office Says

A Mississippi man was arrested by deputies from the Panola County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) on New Year’s Eve after a search of his home uncovered two pounds of methamphetamine.

According to the PCSO, James Daugherty, a 57-year-old man, had been under investigation for several months. On December 31, deputies pulled him over for a traffic violation. During the traffic stop, drugs and a gun were discovered in Daugherty’s vehicle.

Upon obtaining a search warrant, deputies proceeded to search the suspect’s residence where they discovered a substantial amount of illicit substances. Specifically, they found 888 grams of methamphetamine, 544 grams of marijuana, and eight firearms, with one of them reported as stolen.
