SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — How should you prepare if a wildfire threatens your home? The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) offers strategies to prepare for these events through its Ready for Wildfire program.
“Take steps now. It may help save your life and your property if the worst were to come to San Diego,” Mayor Todd Gloria said.
“Don’t wait, don’t hesitate, don’t overthink it,” Chris Heiser said, who is the Executive Director for the City of San Diego’s Office of Emergency Services. “Imagine you have to leave, what are those irreplaceable documents you need for continuing life, so when the sun comes up the next day, you have the ability to go forward,” Heiser added.
