At approximately 4:35 p.m. on January 9, 2025, multiple emergency response crews were dispatched to the area of Bear Corbitt Road near the Delaware Logistics Center for a motor vehicle collision involving two trucks. The incident involved a pickup truck and a box truck, with reports of entrapment.
Units from the Goodwill Fire Company, Christiana Fire Company, Delaware City Fire Company, and Port Penn Fire Company arrived to find the driver of the pickup truck, an approximately 35-year-old male, briefly trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters successfully extricated the individual, who sustained serious but stable injuries, including extremity injuries, torso injuries, and potential internal injuries.
