According to Northern News Now, Hible was a resident at Boundary Waters Care Facility. On Monday, January 6, emergency personnel were reportedly dispatched to the area around 4:38 p.m. Per the outlet, a witness had reported a fire at the location.
Furthermore, the report noted that Hible’s motorized scooter “went up in flames” while she was seated outside the facility. Hible was reportedly “fully engulfed” before staff members could get her off the scooters.

According to the outlet, Hible sustained severe burns from the incident. Additionally, she was transported to Ely Hospital before being airlifted to a hospital in Duluth, where she passed away.
