The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team beat the Ohio State Buckeyes, 73-71, in Columbus, Ohio, improving their Big Ten record to 3-2 on the year This game was yet another instance of the Ducks battling from behind, and they’ve now won six of the seven games this season in which they trailed at halftime.
Oregon finally took a second-half lead when Jackson Shelstad dropped his defender with a crossover and hit a three with 95 seconds left in the game. A few plays later with the Ducks up 70-67, the Buckeyes made a layup and implemented a full-court press as Oregon tried to go the other way.
The full-court press proved tricky for the Ducks, and Shelstad was quickly trapped in the corner. He tried to ricochet the ball out of bounds off of an Ohio State defender, but instead, he turned the ball over. A few seconds later, John Mobley was fouled and headed to the line. He made both free throws to put the Buckeyes ahead, 71-70…
