KINGSTON — A 7-year-old boy was hit by a pickup truck while crossing an intersection in Kingston on Tuesday morning, bringing additional scrutiny to the notorious crossroads .
The child was transported by the Kingston Fire Department to HealthAlliance Hospital but was not badly injured, according to Kingston police. The driver was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, though the investigation is ongoing. Sun glare was a possible factor in the accident, police added.
The intersection is referred to by many residents as “Five Ways to Die.” Five roads meet at a six-way interchange with a confusing asphalt center. Only two of the roads directly feed into another road on the opposite side. The Empire State Trail , a cycling route, also runs through the intersection…
