Bridgeport man who fired shots outside Fairfield diner gets seven years in prison

BRIDGEPORT — A local man who fired several shots outside a Fairfield diner in 2023 after he and a co-defendant ran off the road two women who had rejected their romantic advances was sentenced Friday to serve seven years in prison.

Raymond Rose, 37, had pleaded guilty before Judge Tracy Lee Dayton Oct. 11 to attempted first-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

A plea deal in the case called for a 20-year prison sentence to be suspended after Rose serves seven years behind bars, followed by five years of probation…
