Obituary: Charlotte Britton

Charlotte Britton, age 83 of Mendon, passed away on January 3, 2025 at Lakehouse Assisted Living in Three Rivers, MI.  She was born in Detroit, MI on September 16, 1941 the daughter of Donald and Alice (Boyd) Keebaugh.  Charlotte attended Redford High School in Detroit and was part of the 1958 graduating class.  Following graduation, on November 21, 1959 Charlotte would marry James Britton in Southfield, MI.  She was always involved tending to other people’s needs, donating her time at the Colon Baptist Church and helping with the Teens Involved program.  Charlotte flew to Germany with a 6-month-old child to be with her husband James for two years while he was stationed overseas.  She was known for never missing a grandchild’s event and was honored of being called their number one fan. Charlotte loved to go on adventures, sometimes it was to the casinos, other times it was taking a cruise; she absolutely loved it when her family and friends could join her on those trips.  Every once in a while, when she wasn’t playing penny slots or sailing the seas, she enjoyed sitting down to watch a mystery movie while she sewed and crocheted items for her family; sometimes, making the same dress four times for her daughters.

Charlotte is survived by her four daughters; Tammie Mullendore, Lisa (Todd) Bohm, Dana Schultz, and Jamie (Rodney) Gregory; eleven grandchildren; James Mullendore, David (Sara) Mullendore, Chelsea Bohm, Josh Bohm, Brittany (Steven) Schragg, Caleb Schultz, Emily Schultz, Kalyn (Sanket) Kandem, Travis Gregory, Cody Gregory, and Alyssa (Connor) Barsha; nine great-grandchildren; Harold and Eli Mullendore, Mackenzie Johnson, Kelly and Tate and Sterling Gregory, Wyatt Barsha, Noah and Alaina Schultz, and one more on the way; two siblings; William (Linda) Keebaugh and Jennie (Gary) Miracle; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
