Shrewsbury Nursing Home Faces Wrongful Death Lawsuit

SHREWSBURY – The estate of a woman has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a local assisted living residence.

According to the civil complaint filed at Massachusetts Superior Court in Worcester, the representatives of the estate of Nancy McNamara claims that LCB Senior Living Operating, LLC (LBC), the operator of the Residence at Orchard Grove, as 258 Walnut St. in Shrewsbury:

  • Failed to follow and obey its own mission statement;
  • Created fake entries in the chart of McNamara;
  • Failed to follow McNamara’s care plan.

The complaint says that McNamara became a resident at Orchard Grove in 2019, when she was 85 years old. On December 4, 2021, staff found McNamara on the floor of her unit. EMS transported her to the hospital where she died on January 6, 2022. The death certificate lists the cause of death as “complications from blunt force injuries.”
