RALEIGH, N.C. — After months of waiting for a moment that nearly happened last year, NC State wing Dontrez Styles will finally make history on Saturday afternoon against UNC.
When the game between the Wolfpack and Tar Heels tips off at 4 p.m. ET, Styles will become the first former UNC men’s basketball player in the history of the rivalry to play against his former team. Donning the red and white inside the Lenovo Center, the Kinston, N.C. native is set to do battle against the team he originally signed with out of high school.
Two years removed from his time at UNC, Styles nearly committed to the Wolfpack last summer when he transferred out.
