Katie McKinnon is this week’s senior profile highlight. She loves to challenge herself intellectually and athletically. In and out of the classroom, on and off the rink, she is always smiling and joking with her friends.
When she was eight years old, she joined her first hockey team. Ever since then, it has taken over her life with her love and drive to improve. Unfortunately, this was cut short when she tore her AL in her foot. AL is the ligament in the ankle and a very serious version of spraining an ankle. Now she is unable to participate in the hockey team; however, she is still cheering on her teammates from the sidelines.
As students watch Katie walk through school, they always see her wearing her hockey jacket. She has not let her injury deter her love for hockey and is anxiously waiting for the injury to heal so she can return to the rink…
