HOPKINTON — Hopkinton Police Department has issued a scam alert to the public, cautioning residents about a rise in online fraud schemes that exploit victims’ emotions and sense of urgency.
According to authorities, scammers have been increasingly posing as IT professionals, law enforcement officers, or even loved ones in distress to deceive individuals into withdrawing and sending large sums of money.
