Multiple Region schools impacted by PowerSchool data hack

Multiple Northwest Indiana school districts and charter schools could have had confidential information of students and staff stolen in a database hack late last month impacting PowerSchool, one of the country’s largest student information management system providers.

As of Friday afternoon, at least 10 school districts and charter schools have confirmed with the Times they were impacted by the cybersecurity breach.

They include Charter School of the Dunes, Crown Point Community School Corp., Griffith Public Schools, Hammond Academy of Science & Technology, Hanover Community School Corp., Lake Ridge Schools, Michigan City Area Schools, Portage Township Schools, School Town of Munster, as well as Gary and East Chicago Lighthouse Charter Schools…
