Freeze warning issued for California from Sunday to Wednesday, says the NWS

A freeze warning was issued by the NWS Hanford CA on Saturday at 12:31 p.m. valid from Sunday 2 a.m. until Wednesday 9 a.m. The warning is for Merced – Madera – Mendota, West Side of Fresno and Kings counties, Fresno area, Delano-Wasco-Shafter, Hanford – Corcoran – Lemoore and South End San Joaquin Valley as well as Kern and Buena Vista counties.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 degrees expected for Buena Vista, Buttonwillow – Lost Hills – I5, Caruthers -San Joaquin – Selma, Delano-Wasco-Shafter, Hanford – Corcoran -Lemoore, Merced – Madera – Mendota, South End San Joaquin Valley, and West Side of Fresno and Kings counties from 2 a.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

“Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” comments the NWS. “Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.”…
