Animal rights advocates said that with the enforcement of Ethan’s Law over the summer, penalties for those who subject animals to neglect and cruelty have increased, helping law enforcement hold offenders accountable for their actions. Five animal abuse cases in Fayette County were reportedly charged as felony torture.

“While it’s heartbreaking to see such abuse, the incredible community support we receive makes all the difference,” LFACC staff wrote. “From our animal control officers, kennel staff, veterinary teams, and foster and adoptive families—it truly takes a village to give these animals a second chance at life.”
