The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for Duval County as dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills, or “feels like” temperatures in the 20s, are expected overnight into January 12, 2025.
In response, the City of Jacksonville’s Emergency Preparedness Division has activated its Warming Center Contingency Plan. The plan ensures that when temperatures drop to 27 degrees or colder, the Jacksonville Warming Center will open for residents without adequate heating.
